Neuroscience, Nano Materials and Neuronal Interaction

  • Environmental Neurotoxicity
  • Organophosphate (pesticide) toxicity on invertebrate and mammalian neurons
  • Effects of nicotine exposure on developing autonomic neurons in mammals
  • Acetylcholinesterase’s novel, neurotrophic function in invertebrate and mammalian neuron
  • Trophic mechanisms to promote repair and regeneration in spinal cord and brain injury

Dr. Srivatsan directs the neuroscience laboratory. She employs cellular and molecular techniques such as cell culture, immunocytochemistry, affinity chromatography, electrophoresis, ELISA, Western and Northern blots, spectrophotometry, light and fluorescence microscopy, real time imaging, calcium imaging, morphometry and microarray (gene chip) analysis in her research.
