| Q |
What if my degree is not in business and I have
not taken any business courses?
|
| A |
We offer our FAST-TRACK Foundation courses which
is ten 1 ˝ hour stand-alone modules designed to accelerate you
through the prerequisite courses. Each of these Survey courses
is 7 weeks in length with one offered the first half of the
semester and another offered the second half of the semester on
the same night. Each course is “paired” with another course,
with 6 such “pairs” offered in fall, and 4 offered in spring.
An example is
Survey of Accounting (1st half) and Survey of Finance
(2nd half) on the same night.

| Q |
What are the admission
requirements? |
| A |
There are two levels of admission. One must
first be accepted by the Graduate School which requires a
Bachelors degree, or its equivalent, and a cumulative GPA of
2.50/4.00, or its equivalent. Once an individual has been
admitted to the Graduate School, the file is forwarded to the
Director of Graduate Business Programs for review. There are
two types of admission – Unconditional and Conditional.
- Unconditional Admission – To be admitted
unconditionally to one of the Graduate Programs in Business the
applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75/4.00 and a minimum
GMAT score of 400. The College of Business uses a formula score
to determine admission as follows:
200 X GPA + GMAT = 950
Using the above
mentioned minimums:
200 X 2.75 + 400
= 950
We may also use the GPA on the last 60 hours of
course work if it is significantly better than the cumulative
GPA. In this instance the last 60 hours gpa should be 3.0 or
higher. Using this gpa the formula score is 1000 determined as
follows:
200 X 3.00 + 400
= 1000
- Conditional Admission – Anyone admitted to the
Graduate School or to one of our graduate programs with a gpa
lower than the required minimum is admitted conditionally. An
individual may be admitted to a Graduate Business Program with
less than a. 2.75 GPA as long as they submit a higher GMAT score
to offset the lower gpa and still meet the formula score for
admission.
Example: If a person has a 2.5 GPA they must
earn 450 on the GMAT rather than 400 in order to meet the
formula score
2.50 X 200 + 450 = 950
In addition, the Graduate School may elect to
forward an application with a lower than 2.5 GPA (Graduate
School minimum), asking the Director of Graduate Business
Programs to file an exception form with justification for
admitting someone to one of the Graduate Business Programs with
less than the required gpa. It is up to the discretion of the
Program Director to determine if such an exception is warranted
due to work experience, length of time since the applicant
received their undergraduate degree, etc.
*Due
to Homeland Security Regulations, International Students cannot
be granted conditional admission.

| Q |
What do I do
to restart my studies if I decide to interrupt them for a
semester or more?
|
| A |
If a student does not register for a regular
semester they are placed on “inactive” status by the Graduate

must contact the Graduate School and ask to be reinstated in the
program. This must be done before they
contact their advisor to remove an advising hold.

| Q |
How long will
it take to complete the degree?
|
| A |
How long it takes to complete the degree depends,

hours) per semester while students who do not have such time
constraints typically take an average of three courses (9 hours)
per semester. The program can be completed in as short as 1
full year (Fall, Spring, Summer I and Summer II)
