Completed the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) program and obtained the designation by successful passing of the national certification examination in December, 1996.   Recertified in December, 1999 and 2002.

Registered Employee Benefit Consultant (REBC) professional program conducted by The American College, Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.  Have completed all sections and received the professional designation in December, 1995. 

Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) program sponsored by the National Association of Health Underwriters and conducted by Northeastern University in Boston.  Have successfully completed all three sections and received the professional designation in October 1991.

Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) professional designation awarded in September 1990 by the Life Underwriter Training Council and the National Association of Life Underwriters following a three-year professional education program.

Life Underwriter Training Council (LUTC) agent education program.  Have completed the Personal Life Insurance Course and Business Life Insurance Course and was awarded a Diploma in Life Insurance Marketing.

Completed the Insurance Pre-Examination courses conducted by Insurance Specialty Training of Arkansas (ISTA) for Life/Disability (August 1985) and Property and Casualty (July 1986).

Daily use of computer since 1986 including contact manager, database and proposal systems.  Proficiencies include all components of Microsoft Office and website development.   Have also had experience with computerized accounting and payroll. 

 

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS:

Jonesboro Life Underwriters Association, Joined in January 1986.  Have served as Secretary/Treasurer 1986-88; President-Elect 1988-89; and President 1989-91.  Have also served as Program Chairman and Health Insurance Chairman.  Arkansas State Health Chairman 1997-98.

National Association of Life Underwriters (NALU).  This is the professional association for life and health insurance agents.  Members adhere to a sound Code of Ethics, which demands that our motivation always be what is in our client’s best interest.

Society of Human Resource Managers (SHRM).  Member of the National Chapter and the Northeast Arkansas Chapter since January 1996.  Vice President-Legislation and Board Member, 1997, 1998.  President-Elect and Vice President-Programs, 1999.  President, 2000.

World Safety Organization.  Arkansas Chapter Vice President-Membership and Board Member, 1996-97.

 

ACADEMIC HONORS AND MEMBERSHIPS:

Omicron Delta Epsilon, Alpha Chapter of Arkansas (Arkansas State University).  Initiated on October 29, 1981.  This is the collegiate honor society in Economics.

Beta Gamma Sigma, National Collegiate Business Honor Society.  Elected to membership in the Arkansas State University chapter on April 13, 1987.

Gamma Iota Sigma Fraternity, Omicron Chapter at Arkansas State University.  Elected to membership on April 29, 1988.  This is the collegiate insurance honor fraternity.
