Dr. Unnold has extensive teaching experience at the university and also
at the secondary education level; she has taught Spanish, German, and
ESL in language, culture and teacher education programs in Costa Rica,
Mexico, the United States and Germany. Dr. Unnold routinely contributes
to regional, national and international conferences and has published on
instructional technology and second language acquisition, as well as on
Latin American and German literary and cultural discourse. Dr. Unnold’s
educational training includes an Ed.S. in Higher Education Leadership
and Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi, a Ph.D.
and MA in Comparative Literature with emphasis in Latin American and
German literature from the University of Washington, and additional
graduate studies in the Latin American Literature Program at the
Universidad de Costa Rica. She obtained a BA in Comparative Literature
from the University of California in Davis. Born and raised in Germany,
Dr. Unnold completed her primary and secondary education in her native
country.
