TRI-CHAPTER RESEARCH DAY Thursday, April 2, 2009 Russellville, Arkansas CALL FOR ABSTRACTS Deadline for submissions: February 23, 2009
The Kappa Rho-at-large, Epsilon Omicron, and Eta Theta chapters of Sigma Theta Tau International invite you to participate in the 19th annual Tri-Chapter Research Day by submitting an abstract.
Tri-Chapter Research Day offers an educational forum for undergraduate baccalaureate students, graduate students, educators, nurse clinicians, advance practice nurses, and leaders. All are encouraged to submit abstracts.
CONFERENCE THEME: NURSING RESEARCH AND FAMILY CENTERED CARE
KEYNOTE ADDRESS: Judith MacFarlane, DrPH, MN, RN
“Nursing Research to Prevent Violence Against Women and Children: Nursing Solutions to a Global Problem”
Poster Presentations: Posters should be tri-fold poster board 36” x 48” for a table top. Tables for the poster boards will be provided. Prizes will be awarded for some posters on the basis of content and visual attractiveness.
Oral Presentations: Presentation time is 15 minutes with an additional 5 minutes for questions and discussions. Speakers for oral presentations will be given a discounted registration fee.
Guidelines for Abstract Submission:
· Abstracts should be limited to 250 words, not counting title and authors
· Abstract titles should be brief and reflect the content of the abstract
· Abstracts should include:
§ Purpose of the presentation § Background/significance § Clinical or educational question or focus § Application of research evidence into practice § Evaluation and outcomes § Future directions
· There is a limit of one abstract submission per presenting author
Abstracts should be submitted by email to jhelms@atu.edu Authors unable to submit via email are asked to please save their abstract on a disk, and mail the disk and a hard copy to:
